Artist Bob Farrell leaves behind the tradition rules of the canvas and favors freedom of creation

A Storm is Coming - Oil on canvas - ©Bob Farrell "The oil painting itself is the first one I've done in 10 years I think. The canvas is from work. It's a burlap sack that plumbers have their elbows in. I stretched it and gessoed it. I did a wash first with paint thinner that was used to clean tar brushes and used oil pastels. I then used some old oils that I got. The frame is made out of poplar strips that would have been thrown away at work. Then I did an oil wash on the frame that was influenced by the movie 'The Grudge'. Bob Farrell
