April is poetry month!
here is a small & inspiring collection
of art and poetry from MODspeakers
that have something bigger to say
Is it trash or is it still America?
The Crushing Weight of Hate
Black and White in Color
Laura Tuininga Jackson
Broken spoons and fractured rubberbands
a menagerie of misbegotten minutia
stretching and playing to each extreme
cast aside like so much offal
retribution for their heinous crimes.
Please promote the destruction of all that is minor
so we may empower ourselves
and let nothing else
prevent us from possessing what we seek.
For it is ours - always has been
and always will be.
April is not over yet!!

Is it trash, or is it still America
Blowing in the breeze
The torn American flag
Found on the side of the road
Is it trash
Saved by a man
Still see's its worth
What if my soul
Was found on the roadside
Would I be saved
Or remain homeless
You see it as trash
I see it as art
Saved to live again
Or is it still America
Look in the mirror
