Creating a statement utilizing one image is not as easy as it you may think…so here are a few impressive and successful somethings-to-say from the Northeast artists on social media
"re-purposing home accents from Hobby Lobby into something Jesus would be proud of."
In a recent well publicized story, owners of Hobby Lobby and Conestoga Wood Specialties stated that "religious beliefs prohibit them from providing health coverage for contraceptive drugs and devices that end human life after conception." So, basically, if you are a hobby lobby employee, they won't cover your birth control. Does a business have a right to infringe their religious beliefs onto their employees and control women's reproductive decisions, and not allow their health insurance to cover it?

Over 50 world leaders linked arms at the start of a historic march against terrorism in Paris recently, walking in silence to huge applause as they led a mammoth procession through the French capital….but when 147 students were massacred in Kenya, they got…umm…not much but a quick mention on the nightly news. How to deal with the frustration of knowing this information and feeling helpless to change it? Draw, then share. Educate others…with humor. And adorable drawings.
Is Patrick risking his life by posting a cartoon on Facebook or publishing in a zine? I sure hope not, but IF something were to happen? rest well Patrick, it will not be in vain …

I can't imagine a world without these thinkers and doers.
