ART is a VERB
MODspoke is back online and ready for action, and to celebrate we will be sharing our favorite photos, videos and art actions from MODspoke-past
and we will be asking for a little bit of help along the way because...
ART IS ... ACTION!
The ART IS A VERB event was lead by Artist Nancy Kureth on Alfred Street in Biddeford Maine in 2015 and organized and sponsored by MODspoke.

Artist Nancy Kureth opened the now infamous Art Gallery and coffee house Colette's Cup in 2003 in Biddeford Maine before selling the property later in 2015.
ART IS A VERB was a day long outdoor event sponsored by MODspoke that brought several artists from Southern Maine to Kureth's Alfred Street property and the unique urban garden. The artists built sculptural pieces out of found and brought objects and installed all kinds of visual treats to leave to the upcoming owners and to improve the vibe and aesthetic of the neighborhood. During the event lots of local people stopped by, chipped in or contributed to the art projects or just said "Thank you" to the group for improving the community. (except for that one lady at the end of the video that wanted to kick someone's butt (not us).
Kureth inspired the artists early in the day with coffee and a talk about the process of being an artist as one of action, and action being one of the most important components of becoming a successful and productive artist.
